Barbara Walker’s interest in the tarot grew out of her study of medieval heresies and Goddess worship in Europe. The Barbara Walker Tarot reflects her knowledge of religious symbols, pagan rites and the power of the feminine. The dominant colors are yellow, white, red and black – the last three being the colors of the original feminine trinity: Virgin, Mother and Crone. The Court card figures are deities from diverse cultures. Each numbered minor arcana card is assigned a keyword meaning that is printed at the top. These keywords and the card titles are given in five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish
